Samsung Galaxy Mega – Disassembling procedure – How to remove the case – How to replace the display

Samsung Galaxy Mega
Once the rear cover is removed, you will have access to the screws, the SD card bay and the SIM card bay.
First, remove the battery to turn off the phone. Proceed to remove all PH000 screws from the exposed area as shown.
Using your plastic prying tool, gently pry the speaker upwards and remove it. The speaker is fragile, be careful not to break it.
Insert the pry tool along the side of the device. Pry gently until you hear clicks. Repeat along all sides of the phone. You will continue hearing a clicking sound as the frame begins to release. Gently pull the battery clip up.Then slightly twist the frame slightly clockwise as there is a little clip around the camera that needs released. Once the back frame has been removed, the motherboard and connectors will be exposed.
Remove the LCD cable using your pry tool. Next, remove the front camera by unscrewing the panel. Disconnect the front camera cable.
Get your heat gun out and heat around the edges all around the screen Using three guitar picks, insert them into the phone. Be careful not to insert them at the bottom because the back button and menu button break easily, so take your time.
With your guitar picks still in, lift the screen up towards you. Don't pull it off right away, leave the screen at an angle Put the screen down with guitar picks to keep it loose. Heat up the bottom to loosen the adhesive from the back and the menu button. Once that is done, carefully pull the screen towards you and keep an eye on the bottom to make sure the buttons are seperating from the adhesive
Verify the buttons separate from the adhesive, and now you can separate the screen from the bezel. Follow the steps in reverse to put the new screen down, don't forget the home button and top speaker silver piece.
