It makes sense to avoid exposure to electrical shock.  While some sources are expected to have a possible dangerous impact, others of quite high potential are of limited current and are sometimes held in less regard.

Always respect voltages. While some may not be dangerous in themselves, they can cause unexpected reactions that are best avoided. Before reaching into a powered TV set, it is best to test the high voltage insulation. It is easy to do, and is a good service precaution.

SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION

The units in this manual contain a self-diagnostic function. If an error occurs, the POWER/STANDBY will automatically begin to flash. The number of times the LED flashes translates to a probable source of the problem. A definition of the POWER/STANDBY flash indicators is listed in the instruction manual for the user’s knowledge and reference. If an error symptom is difficult to reproduce use the Remote Commander to display the record that is stored at the internal NVM to specify the cause of the failure.

Diagnostic Test Indicators

When an error occurs, the POWER/STANDBY will fl ash a set number of times to indicate the possible cause of the problem. If there is more than one error, the POWER-STANDBY will identify the first of the problem areas. If the errors occur simultaneously, the one that corresponds to the fewest flashes is identified first.

Results for all of the following diagnostic items are displayed on screen. (No error has occurred if the screen displays a “0”.)

DISPLAY OF POWER-STANDBY OR LAMP LED FLASH COUNT

One flash is not used for self-diagnosis.

RELEASING THE POWER-STANDBY LED FLASH

Unplug the power cord from the outlet to temporarily stop the POWER-STANDBY lamp from flashing.

Self-Diagnostic Screen Display

For failures that are difficult to reproduce, or accompany occasional power off and/or picture mute, the Self-Diagnostic screen display is useful to specify the cause.

VIEWING THE SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN

The TV MICRO service menu contains a Log category that stores the errors. To view the fi rst error detected, display the SHUTDOWN-LOG1 Adjustment Item of the STATUS category. If other errors are detected, they are stored in the SHUTDOWN-LOG2 Adjustment Item of the STATUS category.

1. TV must be in standby mode. (Power off).

2. Press the following buttons on the Remote Commander within a second of each other:

DISPLAY > Channel 5 > Volume + > POWER.

3. Do one of the following:

a. If the TV MICRO Service Menu is displayed, proceed to the next step.

b. If the TV Micro Service Menu is not displayed, press JUMP on the Remote Commander until the TV MICRO service menu is displayed.

4. Do one of the following:

a. If the STATUS Category is displayed, proceed to the next step.

b. If the STATUS Category is not displayed, press 2 or 5 on the Remote Command until the STATUS Category is displayed.

5. The SHUTDOWN-LOG1 Adjustment Item is the fi rst item of the STATUS Category and contains the fi rst error the set detected.

6. To view additional errors, press 1 until the SHUTDOWN-LOG2 Adjustment Item is displayed

7. After repairing the errors, proceed to Clearing the Self-Diagnostic Screen.

CLEARING THE SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN

The self-diagnostic results displayed on the screen are not cleared automatically; therefore you should always check the self-diagnostic screen during repairs.  When you have completed the repairs, clear the self-diagnostic screen to reset the results to “0”.

Note: The self-diagnostic function will not be able to detect any subsequent faults after completion of the repairs unless the Self-Diagnostic result display is cleared to reset the results to “0”.

1. If the Self-Diagnostic screen is already displayed, proceed to step 3. If not, Power off (Set to Standby mode).

2. Press DISPLAY Channel 5 Sound Volume - POWER

3. Press Channel 8 ENT

The status in the upper right corner changes to “WRITE”. When the operation is complete, the status returns to “SERVICE” and the Self-Diagnostic screen is reset.

4. To exit the Self-Diagnostic screen, turn the power off.

READING LAMP AND PANEL TIME

The TV Micro menu of the Service Menu displays the current lamp and  panel time of a set. The Lamp Hours and Panel Hours are shown in hexadecimal format.

1. TV must be in standby mode. (Power off).

2. Press the following buttons on the Remote Commander within a second of each other:

DISPLAY > Channel 5 > Volume + > POWER.

One of the three Service Menu displays.

3. To read the Lamp time, press 4 to display the TIME category and the LMPH item.

4. To read the Panel time, press 4 to display the PHLH item.

5. Do one of the following.

 If you have replaced the lamp, proceed to step 4 of “Resetting the Lamp Time”.

 If you have not replaced the lamp, turn off the set by pressing POWER.

RESETTING THE LAMP TIME

When replacing the lamp, use the following to reset the lamp time.

1. If the Self-Diagnostic screen is already displayed, proceed to step 4.

If not, Power off (Set to Standby mode).

2. Press DISPLAY > Channel 5 > Sound Volume (-) > POWER

3. To access the Lamp reset, press 5 until the TIME category displays.

4. Press 1 until the RSET item displays.

5. To reset the Lamp time, press 3 to change the data value to 1.

6. Press MUTING ENT to write the change into memory.

To verify the Lamp has been reset press 5 until the TIME category displays, and then press 1 until the LMPH item displays.

NOTE: You cannot reset the Panel time with the Service menu.

EXITING SERVICE MODE

After completing the changes, exit service mode by turning off the set using the Remote Commander or the power switch.

NOTE: After exiting service mode wait 2 minutes before restarting the set to allow the fans to shut down properly.

The connectors in the MIX5 chassis have been redesigned to ensure they are securely fasten to the boards. Please review the illustrations below.

Be cautious not to rock the Type 2 or Type 3 connectors when removing or reinstalling to avoid breaking the solder leads off the Printed Circuit Boards.

LAMP DRIVER FAN REMOVAL

1 From the inside of the assembly, release the 3 claws securing the fan duct, then remove the fan duct by grasping as shown.

2 Remove 1 screw.

3 Release 3 clips to detach cover.

4 Remove Fan.

5 Release wire from wire holders.

6 Remove 2 screws.

ACCESSING SERVICE ADJUSTMENT MODE

1. TV must be in standby mode. (Power off).

2. Press the following buttons on the Remote Commander within a second of each other:

DISPLAY > Channel 5 > Volume + > POWER.

VIEWING THE SERVICE MENUS

Use the Remote Commander to view the 3 service menus options.

1. To display the Service Menu that contains the Category you want to adjust, press JUMP on the Remote Commander.

(For a complete list of the service Categories refer to Service Menus)

USING THE REMOTE COMMANDER TO CHANGE SERVICE DATA

Use the buttons on the Remote Commander to access the service menu items and adjust the data values.

1. Access Service Adjustment Mode and select the Service Menu that contains the Category with the Adjustment Item you want to change.

2. To change the Category, press 2 or 5 on the Remote Commander. Note: Pressing 2 or 5 only changes the categories within the Service Menu displayed. To change a Category on one of the other Service Menus, press the JUMP button until the correct Service Menu is displayed.

3. To change the Adjustment Item, press 1 or 4 on the Remote Commander.

4. To change the Data Value, press 3 or 6 on the Remote Commander.

Note: To go back to the last saved Data Value, press 0 then ENT on the Remote Commander to read the memory.

5. To save the changes, press MUTING then ENT to write into memory.

6. To exit service mode, turn the power off by pressing POWER .

Wait 2 minutes before restarting the set to allow the fans to completely shut down or the Service Menu will appear on the screen.

VERIFYING SERVICE DATA CHANGES

1. After completing all adjustments turn the set off with the Remote Commander and WAIT for the fans to turn off before proceeding to the next step.

Note: It may take up to two minutes for the fans to stop.

Caution: To avoid over heating the lamp, do not unplug the set until the fans have stopped.

2. After the fans have stopped, unplug the set from the AC outlet, then plug the set back in the AC outlet.

3. To verify the changes repeat steps 1 through 3 of 2-4. Using the Remote Commander to Change Service Data.

4. To exit service mode, turn the power off by pressing POWER.  Wait 2 minutes before restarting the set to allow the fans to completely shut down or the Service Menu will appear on the screen.

NOTE: After exiting service mode wait 2 minutes before restarting the set to allow the fans to shut down properly.

RESETTING WEGA (USER) MENU TO FACTORY DEFAULTS

Use the following instructions to restore the User Controls and Channel Memory settings to the preset factory conditions.

1. Turn the TV on by press POWER on the Remote Commander.

2. While holding down the on the Remote Commander, press the POWER button on the Front Panel of the set.

The set restarts and displays the initial setup screen. This may take several minutes.

H-V CENTER CONFIRMATION AND ADJUSTMENTS

Use the following instructions to adjust the pictures horizontal and vertical center after replacing either of the following:

Optical Block Assembly

Mirror Cover

1. Set the signal to RF Monoscope, check the H/V center in “Full” picture mode.

2. If the center is shifted, adjust the Horizontal and/or Vertical settings.

a. Access Service Adjustment Mode.

b. Press 2 until the HELIOS-3 category displays.

c. To adjust the Horizontal setting, press 1 until the DHPS (22) item displays.

d. Press 3 to increase the data value, or 6 to decrease the data value.

e. To adjust the Vertical setting, press 1 to display the DVPS (23) item.

f. Press 3 to increase the data value, or 6 to decrease the data value.

g. To save the changes, press MUTING then ENT to write into memory.

h. To exit service mode.

Turn the power off by pressing POWER .

Wait 2 minutes before restarting the set to allow the fans to completely shut down or the Service Menu will appear on the screen.

IRIS ADJUSTMENTS

Use the following instructions to adjust the IRIS after replacing either of the following:

Optical Block Assembly

 B Block Assembly

1. Access Service Adjustment Mode.

2. Press 2 until the IRIS-ADJ category displays.

3. Press 1 until the AUTO (7) item displays.

4. Press 3 to change the data value to 1.

5. Wait approximately 5 seconds until the data value is reset to 0.

6. To exit service mode, turn the power off by pressing POWER.

Wait 2 minutes before restarting the set to allow the fans to completely shut down or the Service Menu will appear on the screen.

Check the electrical DC resistance between the mains plug and the secondary side:

1) Unplug the mains cord, and connect a wire between the two pins of the mains plug.

2) Set the mains switch the “on” position (keep the mains cord unplug).

3) Measure the resistance value between the mains plug and the front panel, controls, and chassis bottom.

4) Repair or correct unit when the resistance measurement is less than 1M ¡.

5) Switch the unit “off”, and remove the wire between the two pins of the mains plug.

Be careful during measurements in the live voltage section. The primary side of the power supply , including the heat sink, carries live mains voltage when you connect the player to the mains (even when the player is “off”!). It is possible to touch copper tracks or components in this unshielded primary area, when you service the player. Service personnel must take precautions to prevent touching this area or components in this area. A “lighting stroke” and a stripe-marked printing on the printed wiring board, indicate the primary side of the power supply.  . Never replace modules, or components, while the unit is “on”

Dismantling Instructions

Step1: Remove 6 screws around the Top Cover, and then remove the Top Cover

St Step2: If it is necessary to dismantle Loader or Front Panel, the Front door should be removed first.

Note: Make sure to operate gently otherwise the guider would be damaged.

Dismantle the front door assembly carefully to avoid damage tray and the front door.



Step3: Dismantle Front Panel, disconnect the connectors (XP4, XP8,XP12), need release 2 snaps of Front Panel & 2 snaps of bottom cabinet , then gently pull the Panel out from the set.

Step4: Dismantle Front Control Board,remove 5 screws.

Step5: Dismantle Loader, disconnect the 3 connectors (XP2, XP3, XP6) aiming in the below figure, and remove 2 screws that connects the loader and the bottom cabinet.


Step6: Dismantle Main Board, first disconnect 2 connectors (XP1, XP11), and then remove 6 screws.

Step7: Dismantle Power Board, disconnect the connectors XS703 and CN501 on Power Board,then remove 5 screws.

Step8: Dismantle Amplifier Board, remove screws.


Software upgrade method:

1.Copy the bin file as "HTS3201_XX.bin".

2. Copy the renamed bin file(upgrade file) to the root menu of USB device.

3. Connect the USB device to HTS, and switch to USB source;

4. If the CD is correct, it will display the Upgrade Menu; press the PLAY key on the remote control to start upgrade

5. After a while, the tray will open automatically, but must not power off the player.

6. Don’t power off, wait until the player reset automatically, the whole upgrade process may need 2 minutes. HTS will auto standby after complete upgrade.

Read out the software versions to confirm upgrading

Follow the steps shows below:

Whirlpool Microwave Oven MT244-1-BLACK – wiring diagram, schematic, error codes, exploded view

 Before leaving the factory each oven is carefully checked.  It must, however, be installed and used correctly.

Always disconnect the plug from the mains before starting work.

When you have finished servicing an oven before you reconnect it to the mains, make sure that:

- all the internal connections are correct

- the wires are insulated and not touching the door or the cabinet or anything sharp

- all the earth connections are electrically and mechanically sound

- do not modify or anyway interfere with the safety devices built-in to the oven.

Do not operate the oven if the following conditions exist:

- the door does not close firmly against the door support because of the door being warped or the hinges damaged.

- The door trims or seals are damaged.

- If there is any visible damage to the oven.

- if the door does not close properly.

Avoid operating the oven if known components in the interlock system, oven door or microwave generating assembly are known defective. They must be replaced.

Error codes

Certain fault conditions are indicated by an error code.

The following codes are implemented:

ERR 0:   Convection temperature sensor fault.  Not connected or short circuit.

ERR 1:   Short circuit in the MW relay.

ERR 6:   Weight sensor calibration has not been performed.

ERR 7:   Humidity sensor is defect or has not been connected.

ERR 8:   Impossible to write to E2 PROM.

ERR 9:   Options have not been set.

ERR A:   No wheel detected on weight sensor.

ERR B:   No pulses from the weight sensor or <4267 Hz.

ERR C:   Fuzzy temperature sensor fault. Not 19-41 ˚C.

LG CB20T20X 20 inch color television – how to enter the service mode, service mode adjustments, circuit diagram

 

Used ICs: TDA2006, TDA8841 or TDA8842, U4488B, LA7016, CD4052B, SAA5281, CXP864P61S, 24C16, TDA8351, STR S5707, TDA6107Q, GMS30140 [remote control IC]

To enter the service mode press "OK" buttons on both TV set and the Remote control at the same time.

RF AGC (Automatic Gain Control) Adjustment

Test Point : AGC TP (J05)

Adjust : Remote Control.

The RF AGC was aligned at the time of manufacture for optimum performance over a wide range conditions.  Readjustment of RF AGC should not be necessary unless unusual local conditions exist, such as;

1) Channel interference in a CATV system.

2) Picture bending and/or color beats, which are unusually due to excessive RF signal input when the receiver is too close to a transmitting tower or when the receiver is connected to an antenna distribution system where the RF signal has been amplified. In this case, the input signal should be attenuated (with pad or filter) to a satisfactory level.

3) Picture noise caused by "broadcast noise" or weak signal.  If the broadcast is "clean" and the RF signal is at least 1mV (60dBu), the picture will be noise free in any area.

Adjusting RF AGC to one end of rotation will usually cause a relatively poor signal to noise ratio;

Adjusting to the other end of rotation will usually cause a degradation of over load capabilities resulting in color beats or adjacent channel interference.

Adjustment

1. Connect RF signal (65dB!0.2dB) and turn on the TV.

[Standard adjustment Channel]

- EU 05 Ch. (frf = 175.25MHz) : CK, CL, CB

- EU 41 Ch. (frf = 631.25MHz) : CI

2. Press OK buttons on TV set and Remote Controller at the same time to get into SVC-0 mode.

3. Press Channel UP/DOWN button on the Remote Controller several times to find AGC?

4. Press Volume UP/DOWN button until the AGC Voltage is the same as the Table below.

5. Press OK(Y) button to memorize the data.


Screen Voltage Adjustment

Test Point : RK (Red Cathode of CPT Board)

Adjust : Screen Control of FBT

1) Press TV/AV Key to get AV Mode.

2) Connect the probe of oscilloscope to the RK (Red Cathode) of CPT Board.

3) Adjust Screen Volume of FBT so that the waveform is the same as below figure.

Focus Adjustment

Test Point : Observing Display

Adjust : Focus control of FBT

1) Tune the TV set to receive an inactive channel station.

2) Adjust the Focus control of FBT for best overall focus.

Deflection Data Adjustment (Line SVC-1)

Enter the service mode as described earlier.

1. Preparation for Deflection Adjustment

1) At SVC mode, press the Yellow colored button.

If the Remote Controller doesn't have the Yellow button, you should use a Service Remote Control (105-201G) and press SVC button.

And then, deflection data adjustment OSD (SVC1 mode) will be displayed.

2) Press Channel UP/DOWN button for desired function Adjustment.

3) Press Volume UP/DOWN button to adjust the data.

2. Deflection Adjustment Procedure

1) Vertical Adjustment

Select VS and adjust until the mechanical center of CPT and that of screen coincides and select VA and adjust to coincide the inner circle of screen with outer frame of CPT

2) Horizontal Adjustment

Select HS and adjust until the mechanical center of CPT and that of screen coincides.

3) Vertical S Correction Adjustment

Select SC and adjust until top-bottom side pincushion is equal.

4) Press OK button to memorize the data.

White Balance Adjustment.(LINE SVC-0)

NOTE : This adjustment should be performed after screen voltage adjustment.

1) Tune the TV set to receive an 100% white pattern.

2) Press OK(Y) buttons on TV set and remote controller at the same time to get into SVC mode.

3) Press PSM(RED) button on remote controller. (Standard picture)

4) Press Channel UP/DOWN button for desired function adjustment.

5) Adjust VOL+ or VOL- button for GG031.

6) Adjust VOL+ or VOL-button in each status of "Rg--"/"Bg--" for X=293!8, Y=295!8 with color analyzer.

7) Press OK(Y) button to memorize the adjustment data.

OPTION Adjustment (SVC MODE:OPTION-1, OPTION-2)

NOTE: When the EEPROM has been replaced, the Option data should be restored as the function of individual system and specification.

1) Press OK buttons on both TV set and Remote Controller at the same time to get into SVC mode.

2) Press the Yellow button several times to find OPTION-1 or OPTION-2.

3) Input the correspond OPTION data referring to Table below with the numeric buttons 0~9
